Thinking ecologically, acting economically – because it makes sense.

“For us, sustainability is neither a trend nor a label. It is part of our identity – a responsibility toward our region, our employees, and our customers. As a family-owned company rooted in the Fricktal region and serving clients around the world, we rely on solutions that make long-term sense – both ecologically and economically.”

Sustainability – pragmatic and reliable, out of conviction.

As a leading manufacturer in mould and toolmaking in Switzerland, we systematically examine how our operations and production processes can be made more environmentally friendly – while simultaneously optimising costs.

We are committed to ecological, social, financial, and entrepreneurial responsibility – both in our daily operations and in our strategic decisions. This includes fair working conditions, strong apprenticeship training, regional partnerships, and investments designed to stand the test of time. Because sustainable action starts with people and results in stable, future-proof structures.

25% of our electricity is self-produced

With photovoltaic systems covering a total area of over 5,300 m², we generate a large share of our electricity needs ourselves – saving around 473 tonnes of CO₂ every year.

According to the table above, we save around 473 tons of CO₂ per year. The CO₂ reduction is calculated based on the manufacturer's data.

Energy recovery – heating and cooling

At Jehle, energy recovery refers to the process of reclaiming and reusing energy from industrial operations. Using efficient technologies – such as hardening furnaces, powder coating systems, and compressors – we recover energy that is then used for heating and cooling.

We rely on efficient heat pumps and cooling systems that utilize geothermal energy and groundwater.

These measures allow us to save approximately 60,000 liters of heating oil annually, which corresponds to a CO₂ reduction of about 132 tons.

Materials, waste, and recycling

We use environmentally friendly materials that comply with REACH, RoHS, and PFAS regulations, and place great emphasis on collecting and sorting material waste – both solid and liquid. These materials are handed over to specialized companies that ensure proper disposal and recycling.

We are ISO 14001 certified and implement our environmental management measures accordingly.

CO₂ emissions reduced by over 50%

Despite expanding our facilities and increasing the number of individual parts and employees, we have been able to reduce our CO₂ emissions (Scope 1 and 2) by over 50% in recent years, thanks to our consistently implemented sustainability strategy – achieved through the following measures:

  • Photovoltaic systems on buildings  Plant 1, 4 and 5
  • Heat recovery systems
  • Groundwater-based heating and cooling solutions
  • Efficient waste management and recycling

Currently in implementation:

  • Conversion to LED lighting
  • Integration of Plant 1 into the new central energy network (compressed air, heating/cooling via groundwater)

Considering the carbon footprint as a decision-making criterion for new investments.
